The distribution of clouded cats in our country has been in the northeastern marginal area where this species is dispersed. Dali and Lijiang areas in northwest Yunnan; overseas, they are widely scattered in India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Cloud cats breed two litters in one year, often with only 2 to 4 cubs. They are a small and medium-sized breed that was only discovered in China in the mid-1970s. A carnivore, because it likes to eat juice (from coconut trees and palm trees), the nicknames coconut cat and palm cat came into being.

The long tail of the cloud cat allows it to run quickly between branches and catch food. This is a unique feature of the cloud cat and other animals of the genus Cat. . In the mountainous areas of central Yunnan, the caves of cloud cats are mostly rocky caves, earth caves or tree caves, and they are mostly located near sunny slopes.

Because the hair and color on its body are very similar to the clouds in the sky, it got its current name - Cloud Cat. Cloud cats have brown or black-grey hair. It has a black head, white freckles appear below and on both sides of the eyes, black floral patterns appear on both sides of the body, and black vertical bullets (many) appear on the back of the cloud cat. Brown hair will appear on its hands, feet and tail.
